SHELF #3 A Radio Channel With Hailey!

I was planning to  HANG-OUT with a friend.
However, I decided at the last minute that I wanted to do a radio channel instead of hang-out.
We had some technical issues :-(
It turned out that radio show was so much fun!

I tried to act and speak like a radio panel.
Asked a guest about her proffesional life and private life as well.
We also talked about things going on with her.
It was great and I enjoyed it very much.

I realized that I still need to work on some smooth English.
I said to a guest, "Please say last words for us"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my..........
What a terrible mistake!
In this case, it would have been better if I'd said,
"Well, have a nice evening and say good byes to our listeners"

Even though I didn't record a video for it,
it was helpful because I can be more objective listening to it.

I'm pretty satisfied with it :-)

You can listen to it and can give me some tips as well!

Enjoy!

SHELF #2

J.K.Rowling's Havard Commencement Address

It may be boring, but I found it very useful doing this!

First, I watched it over and over again.

Second, I printed the script and try to figure out the phrases.

Third, I worked on some vocabs that I don't understand and put some of them on Quizlet.

Then I shadow read it.

Finally, I recorded it!

Her British accent is not hard as others, so it wasn't very hard to understand her.

Because she is a writer, her speech sounded very excting and fun.

and might be helpful for someone :-)

Shadow Reading

It wasn't hard to shadow read it because she speaks very slowly, but I still wanted to do it.

The reason why I chose it is that she talks with so much emotions.

I wanted talk like her with intonations and expressions and I especially liked

her "r" sound when she says "really really"!

Shadow reading part:

Ugh, dammit. That is so goddamn disappointing, Louie.

Louie, you know what the meanest thing is you can say to a fat girl? "You're not fat." I mean, come on, buddy. It just sucks. It really really sucks. You have no idea. And the worst part is, I'm not even supposed to do this. Tell anyone how bad it sucks, because it's too much for people. I mean, you, you can talk into the microphone and say you can't get a date, you're overweight. It's adorable. But if I say it, they call the suicide hotline on me.

I mean, can I just say it? I'm fat. It sucks to be a fat girl. Can people just let me say it? It sucks. It really sucks. And I'm going to go ahead and say it. It's your fault.
Look, I really like you, you're truly a good guy, I think. I'm so sorry. I'm picking you. On behalf of all the fat girls, I'm making you represent all the guys. Why do you hate us so much? What is about the basics of human happiness, feeling attractive, feeling loved, having guys chase after us, that's just not in the cards for us? Nope. Not for us.
How is that fair? And why am I supposed to just accept it?

Ji's job (mock) interview

This is embarrassing!

Well, I get really nervous when it comes to the interview or presentation.
I get blushed (really really R.E.D)
However, it was great experience doing mock interview during audiovisual class.

It's uncomfortable watching myself through the video, but I got to know
not only what my problems are, but good things as well.
I guess I should stop moving so much and I need to put my hands down, seriously.

There are some points I want to improve!

1. Do not smile or laugh too much!
(It's good to smile, but too much of it could make you look not serious about the interview.)

2. Speak clearly.
(You mumble too much, Ji!)

3. Keep your head still.
(You shake your head too much!)

4. Vocabulary!
(Try to be familiar with vocabularies related to the job before the interview)

5. Be confident!!!!!!
(You are doing good, trust yourself. don't worry about the mistakes :-))

Plus, please tell me I'm prettier than this. Haha!

Quizlet set!

This is my final Quizlet set!
Try it!

I think Quizlet helped me a lot on some difficult English words that are
not easily recognized or memorized.

First, it's visual. I love this part the most!!!
Second, it keeps you to study the word by activities like flash card and test.
Finally, you really get to know all these 50 words!!!

If you are not an English speaker, you should definitely try Quizlet!
